Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Pops

This is an easy to "Do Ahead" recipe that great as an hors d'oeuvres. The addition of the Butt Kickin' Rub really brings out the pop in the great appetizers.

Bacon, Shrimp, and a little Spice. What else do you need?

This is one of those simple recipes that's always a hit at parties, I make them up ahead, then either cook them on a grill or in the oven for a quick Super Bowl type Snack.



  • 1/2 Pound, Thick-sliced Bacon

  • 1 Pound, Shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1/4 Cup, Dark Brown Sugar

  • 2 Tablespoons, Cap'n Ron's Butt Kickin' Blacken, to taste

  • 6" or 8" Wooden Skewers


1. Mix up a "rub" of the Blacken and the Dark Brown Sugar.

2. Cut the bacon into thirds. Place one shrimp wrapped in bacon on a skewer.

3. Sprinkle a little of the Rub on both sides of each shrimp skewer. Grill on high for 2-3 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.

4. If you don't have your grill going, you could easily cok these in an oven at 350 degrees for 10 - 15 mninutes. Just set them on a rack in a foil lined sheet pan to cook.
