Garlic Bread

If you're like me, whenever the guys are over to watch football, we get the "munchies" even though we have real food to eat. Like grilled chicken legs, or wings. This is a great way to get past those low points in the game for only about 5 minutes of work.

If you're not really a garlic fan, use less. This one really tastes of garlic.

  • 1 Stick Butter
  • 6 Cloves Garlic, grated
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Dried Basil
  • 1 Loaf Baguette
  • Butt Kickin' Blacken, to dust, and garnish
  • Your Favorite Jarred Marinara Sauce

1. Let the butter get real soft, then grate the garlic into it, and add the oregano and basil. Mix well.

2. Cut the baguette in half, then in half lengthwise. Spread liberally with the garlic butter. Then sprinkle a little blacken on top.

3. Turn the oven to broil, place the bread on a sheet pan, and set underneath the heat. You don't even have to wait for the oven to warm up for this one.

4. Cook about 5 minutes, Take out, when the butter has melted, and the garlic has just started to brown. It burns REAL quick so stay near the oven while you're doing this.

5. As soon as it comes out cut diagonally into 1" strips. Plate it with some warmed up sauce, and dust the platter with blacken.

6. Serve immediately with a small bowl of Marinara sauce, or Pesto, for dipping.
